My holiday really was wheelchair accessible – By Karen Hoe

We’ve had the pleasure of staying with Hannah and Kevin now 3 times at their home in Spain and watched it being Renovated and adapted during our visits to the highest possible standards.

The Villa

The villa comprises of a house over 3 levels. The first floor is fully adapted on one level which has 2 bedrooms, wet room, lounge, kitchen and dining areas both inside and also outside on a balcony overlooking the pool. The upstairs has a further bedroom and bathroom for more family members to stay, along with another roof top terrace .
The accommodation is accessed via a purpose built concrete graduated ramp  by the side of the pool that takes you up to another flat terraced area for outdoor relaxation again over looking the pool, and then a further ramp into the house on the next level ( first floor )
The downstairs area is where current owners live and is separate from the main house.

Wheelchair Accessible

My son is a wheelchair user and we were able to relax and enjoy our holiday together as a family with no problems at all. I was extremely apprehensive and anxious taking him abroad for the first time in 10 years,
now I wish I’d done it sooner!
The pool side areas, and other balconies offer plenty of opportunities to relax or enjoy the full use of the pool with a poolside hoist for accessibility, or a few small steps in shallow end for the more able person .

Location

The home is set in a quiet community which is populated by both British and a mixture of other nationalities, all very friendly. There’s plenty of walks and areas to explore although it is quite hilly, so be prepared to get a work out!
The nearest shops/ village are a 5 minute car journey and the main town and big shopping centre only 15 mins away .

Lots of lovely beaches In surrounding areas to explore as well as restaurants and cinemas.

Summary

Overall I can’t endorse this holiday enough but the added bonus is the friendly,  approachable couple who will welcome you into their home and do their best to accommodate your needs to make your stay stress free!

Nice to meet you!

I'm Aimee, and this is my daughter Emily. Emily has spina bifida. I have always found talking to other parents or people with disabilities reassuring. The disabled community is the best community to be part of. I created Rollin' With Mama so we could all share experiences.
